BIENVENIDOS A LA CLASE DE ESPANOL

 

BE ON TIME.  Class starts when the bell rings.  You are expected to be in your seat and ready to start class.    If you are tardy, you’ll get a demerit.

 

ABSENCES.  If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to make up assignments.  If you know you will be absent you must check in with me before you go to make arrangements for make up work.

 

HOMEWORK.  Is to be turned in on the day it is due at the beginning of class.  Late assignments on the same day will be dock 20%. Late assignments  the next day will be docked 50%.  Anything after one day is 0%.

 

NO GUM, CANDY or other edibles.  Water or any drink bottles are not allowed in the classroom.

 

COME TO CLASS PREPARED TO WORK.  You must have your covered textbook and a writing utensil.  A notebook to take notes, and a binder to keep returned papers in an organized fashion.  Notecards/index cards for flashcards.

 

BE HONEST.  Cheating is not tolerated in any form.  You will receive a zero, a referral/detention and your parents will be notified.  Comparing answers on any written work is considered cheating.

 

LISTEN.  If there are announcements on the intercom, be quiet and listen –or be prepared to hand me your demerit card.

 

BE A RESPONSIBLE LEARNER.  Everyday review or study Spanish:  make flashcards, memorize vocabulary, read out loud dialogues, write down grammar exercises.

 

GRADING. 

30%  Tests at the end of each chapter

35%  Vocabulary and/or Grammar Quizzes 

25%  Written work

10%  Participation in class:  Listening Skills (5%), Speech Skills (5%)

Each Quarter counts 40%  and the Final is 20% of each Semester Grade.

 

Behavior that lead to Success is expected at all times in my classroom:

These rules are made to guide you.  If you choose not to be responsible and break these rules, consequences will follow.  Consequences may include loss of points, demerits, office referrals, detentions, suspensions and expulsion from school.
