Course Outline:
This one semester course will provide a broad overview of the marketing process and the role that marketing plays in the business setting. Students will be introduced to the concepts, business practices and career opportunities involved within marketing. The process of developing, promoting and distributing products and services will be thoroughly explored. Additional units devoted to research, product planning, advertising, pricing and selling will be studied with an emphasis on occupational opportunities and job requirements in each area of marketing field.
Grading Scale: The grading scale is the same as the school’s A (93-100), B (85-92), C (77-84), D (70-76), and F (0-69). Your grade is accumulated from chapter tests, and group projects.
Assignment
Policy: You will be given homework
frequently in Marketing. Any work that
you do not finish in class, you will need to have completed by the assigned due
date, usually the next class period. All
late homework must be done before the end of the week that it was assigned, or
it will not be accepted!
Absentee and Tardy Policy: You will be responsible for your assignment whether you are in school or not. If you know you are going to be absent from school ahead of time, it is to your benefit to do your assignment before leaving. If you are sick from school you can e-mail me to get your assignment or you will have 2 days after return to complete the assignment.
Tardy means not being in your assigned seat when the second bell rings and will result in (1) warning and (2) a demerit. Being excessively tardy will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Classroom Rules:
1) Bring all classroom materials with you everyday to class. This includes your notebook and pens.
2) Always have respect for others in the classroom. This means to be respectful and courteous towards the teacher and to the other students in the classroom. Always raise your hand to ask questions, or to leave your seat. When working in groups keep discussions to a noise level where you are not distracting other groups.
3) There is no such thing as a stupid question. If you need clarification on a topic or an assignment please ask!!! I am here for you to ask questions and I want you to succeed in this class. I will be available at 7:55 in room 108 to answer any class questions. Also, I am available during my off periods, somewhere around the school to answer questions. Also, I can be available after school if you come and see me and set up a time.
4) I HAVE NO TOLERENCE FOR CHEATERS! This applies to homework, projects, and tests!
