Math Club Organization
Math Club allows students to expand on their mathematical skills through different activities including in-school contests, such as the Mathfax, out-of-school contests such as the UNL Math Day and the contest at Brownell-Talbot. Math club members also are chosen to participate in the national AMC.
Math Club meets on the last Tuesday of each month from September to March. Students may letter in Math Club by attaining enough participation points.

Math Club Letter
The math club letter will be based on grades and participation in club activities. You must attain a minimum of 18 points to receive a letter. You must also maintain a “C” average with no failing grades in any class.
The way a member may receive points:
a) grades- GPA will be rounded to the nearest whole number
b) attending math competitions such as UNL Math Day- 1 pt. for each competition and 1 pt for placing in a competition
c) attending meetings- 1 pt per meeting
d) helping with math club activities such as orientation- 1 pt per event
e) Math Fax contest (4 tests per year) – 2 points per test; 1 pt for placing in the top 3 at the school level and 1 pt for placing in the top 10 at the national level
f) AMC Test- 1 pt for taking the test and 1 pt for qualifying at a higher level
g) Math Class- 1 pt for each math class taken above Algebra 1-2
