Fall Sports Wrap-up

Eleven student-athletes were honored at a special ceremony for those who have committed to play a sport in college. Read more.

The NSAA (Nebraska School Activities Association) honors a maximum of two students per activity each of the three seasons (Fall/Winter/Spring).  The following are the Pius X honorees for the Fall Activity season.  In order to be eligible, a student must have been a varsity contributor, have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher and have been nominated by their coach/sponsor.


Girls Golf – Alyson Kuehn

Boys Tennis – Jake Wilkinson, Sam Rice

Softball – Amelia Jarecke, Lynsey Tucker

Girls Cross Country – Ellen Dalton, Gemma Volkmer

Boys Cross Country – Anthony Butler, Anthony Krick

Volleyball – Lindsay Nottlemann, Karly Wieser

Football – Zach Kerkman, Will Bunz

Play Production – Cecilia Minchow, Emma Ogea



Pius X qualified won their district championship, and qualified for the state volleyball tournament.


The football team finished the regular season at 6-3, earning the ninth seed in the state football playoffs.

Cross Country (boys and girls)

The girls team finished sixth at state cross country, led by sophomore Lizzie Kramer, who finished fourth overall. The boys team finished 9th in Class A, and were led by sophomore Gavin Skorupa who finished in 12th place. Girls runners on the state team also include: juniors Gemma Volkmer, Ellen Dalton and Madison Schafers, sophomores Carmen Wharry and Adelina Herrera, and freshman Monica Hanus. Boys runners also include: seniors Tyler Taubenheim, Anthony Butler and Anthony Krick, and sophomores Nicholas McElroy and Ashton Ivanov.


The girls softball team finished third at the Class A State Tournament.

Tennis (boys)

Freshman Mason Warner won the state title at #2 Singles, and freshmen Will Ulrich and Joe Plachy won the state title at #2 Doubles. Seniors Joe Burt and Jake Wilkinson finished third at #1 Doubles, and senior Sam Coy finished 4th at #1 Singles. The team finished as state runners-up.

Golf (girls)

The girls golf team finished in ninth place at the state golf tournament in Norfolk. Senior Alyson Kuehn finished 11th in individual standings. Other team members include senior Lauren Carr, Hannah Johnson, freshman Marissa Kuehn and sophomore Austyn Kreikemeier.
