Alex Adams leaving Lincoln to return to home state

Math teacher Alex Adams is leaving Pius X after teaching here for seven years. Although he wishes he could stay, life has other plans for him.

“I grew up in Ohio and came out here for school,” Adams said. “Nebraska has been my home for many years, it’s time to go back to my roots and my family.”

Even though he is leaving, Adams has made lasting impacts on the students who he has taught.

“He’s an amazing teacher who has impacted my life significantly and he’s going to do great things in Ohio,” junior Libby Schinstock said.

But not only has Adams impacted the students he teaches, but he has also touched the lives of the people he coached in basketball and football.

“He’s a great guy and a great coach,” senior Tyler Castle said. “He relates to his players and is a good guy to talk to.”

Students report Adams being a great teacher even outside of school hours.

“Mr. Adams is understanding and kind and he’s an amazing teacher,” Schinstock said. “He’s always there to help in and outside the classroom.”

Although Adams is excited about getting back to his family, he is disappointed to be leaving Pius X students behind.

“I’m going to miss the students, I’ve always had good kids for every class I’ve taught,” Adams said. “The relationships I have made with students and staff is like nothing I’ve ever experienced and I’m going to miss it.”
