Shannon Kelly ’12 was named one of the 50 “Best New British and Irish Poets” of 2018. She was selected for her poem, “Bucharest, 1989.” The publishing company is a famous British Press Co. with offices in London. They publish novels, poems, and non-fiction from global writers and poets. The Best New British and Irish Poets 2018 anthology will be available in April, 2018.
Shannon is a writer and editor living in Galway, Ireland. She graduated with first class honors last November with a Masters of Arts (Writing) from NUI-Galway. Her poems have appeared in numerous publications and she was the 2016 winner of the Allingham Poetry Prize. She also wrote a piece for the L Magazine here in Lincoln that was published in March highlighting our Vietnamese students from the Ho Chi Minh City exchange program.
