COVID-19 Update: March 25

From Principal Tom Korta,

Today the NSAA announced that all activity practices and competitions are suspended through May 1st.

·         Today Mayor Baird announced that as of 8 am tomorrow, gatherings of more than 10 people in a single space are prohibited until Wednesday, May 6th.  This period of prohibition includes several scheduled Pius events.  The administrative team will meet on Friday to review all of the events scheduled for the remainder of the year and decide which events to modify, postpone or cancel.  While my read of the announcement indicates that school cannot resume until May 6th at the earliest, I have not yet received any word from the Diocesan Education Office.  I will share that information as soon as an official decision is made.

·         The Nebraska bishops are joined in asking all faithful to participate in a state-wide rosary this evening at 6 pm.  Today is the Feast of the Annunciation, so it is a great day to join this powerful prayer.  The rosary will be broadcast live on KVSS (102.7 fm).
