Video editing: Students will create short, simple highlight clips of Pius X sports based on videos already captured. For example, a student may screengrab a play from a softball game on the school YouTube channel and make it a short video (10-15 seconds). See an example below. These videos will be shared on social media. Student should have phone/tablet with access to YouTube and Twitter. Attendance at games is not necessary/required.
Broadcasting: Students will broadcast home Pius X sporting events (choose one or multiple of volleyball, basketball, soccer, and JV football, if interested). Training provided. Students will start by recording their own broadcast that is not shared publicly, then get feedback. Students are only responsible for audio (video is captured run by our HUDL camera). When the student is ready, broadcasts appear on our YouTube channel – https://piusx.net/youtube.
These activities are good for those considering careers in these fields, or pursuing a hobby, or seeking a way to stay involved in athletics without competing.
