An upgraded shot put practice area was installed at Pius X this summer, including border timbers and rock in the shot put sectors so that our throwers can practice in all weather conditions. (In the past, we were limited when it was wet and muddy.) We would like to thank the Booster Club for the funds to make this project possible.
A team of people helped in all phases, led by teacher and assistant track coach Kerri Strizek. She said her husband, Jeff Strizek, took a week of his vacation time and many nights and weekends to help with the planning and installation of all parts of the project.
Others using their strong arms and legs to help included: Cora Bachle, Gretchen Broderson, Alex Dustin, Cannon Gamez, Carter Gokie, Jared Lang, Thomas Lewellan, Lauren McClung, Zeke Mullendore, Collin Norris, Dominic Roberts, Marcus Roberts, and assistant athletic director Brian Spicka.
