Witt steps down as head swimming coach
Mike Witt has stepped down as the head coach of Swimming & Diving at Pius X High School to take a coaching position in Texas.
Witt coached the Thunderbolts for five years, leading the girls teams to three-straight top-three finishes, and the boys to multiple top ten finishes at the state championships. He also coached the school’s first three individual state champions: Caroline Theil, Braden Kowalski and Katie Stonehocker.
The Pius X swimming and diving program will enter its 11th year this winter after being brought back in 2010.
Tim Aylward, Pius X athletics director, said the school will immediately search for its next head swimming coach.
