Foundation office moves to new space in school
The Pius X Foundation staff has moved from three offices to one office inside of Pius X High School. With the new classroom addition, the Family and Consumer Science department had new classroom space. The former FCS classroom (formerly Room 100) was converted to an office space for all staff for the Foundation and Alumni departments.
The Foundation, now in its 50th year, currently manages an endowment of more than $15 million, which consists of 48 scholarship and 12 endowed fund. Since its inception in 1969, the Foundation has transferred more than $10 million to the high school for operating expenses.
Studying latitude and longitude – combined with creative lesson planning by science teacher Lori Watson – led to a geocaching activity for students in Earth, Energy and Environment.
