Salt and sand mix, then separate in Chemistry lab
Chemistry students conducted a lab to separate sand from salt using a multi-step process. Junior Greta Rosno breaks down the steps.
“So today we’re kind of separating salt from sand. And so how we did that was that we poured water into our salt and sand mixture, and then we mixed it around. And then we filtered out the sand. And then we poured it into our beaker and now we are boiling it to evaporating all the water. And right now, it’s going pretty good. We have a good salt mixture going on right now.”
