Rocket launches test physical principles in AP Physics course

Jeremy Scheffler’s AP Physics students put their custom-designed rockets to the test!

Using an air compressor, teams aimed for a target more than 25 feet away, applying real physics principles to achieve the perfect combination of distance, speed, and accuracy. This comes after test launches and video analysis.

AP Physics (PACE) is equivalent to two one-semester calculus-based college physics courses and includes the study of motion, forces, energy, momentum, electrostatics, circuits and magnetism. Students will complete several major projects and will compete in the Pius X Machine Contest in the spring.
