Culture and art overlap for Spanish 4 students

Papel picado is the art of paper cutting into intricate designs. The Spanish 4 students divided in groups of three and traced their chosen design on their paper. In class, the students used X-acto knives – borrowed from the Art Department – to cut out the traced pattern. The many papel picados are hung throughout the school. Teachers are Tracy Chappelle and Katie Hayes.
