PowerSchool for Parents
Parents can manage their children’s academic information through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This online portal allows you to view grades, assignments, attendance, schedules, and school bulletins for all your children in one place.
Creating a New PowerSchool Parent Account
- Open any internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
- Go to https://powerschool.cdolinc.net/.
- Click the Create Account tab.
- On the “Create an Account” screen, click the Create Account button.
- Fill in the following fields:
- First Name and Last Name
- Email (used for notifications)
- Re-enter Email
- Desired Username
- Password (must be at least 8 characters, include uppercase and lowercase letters, a number, and a special character)
- Link students to your account using the Access ID and Access Password provided by Pius X High School:
- Student Name
- Access ID
- Access Password
- Relationship (select from dropdown)
- Repeat for each student.
- Click Enter to finish.
- Log in using your new Username and Password.
Adding a Student to an Existing Account
- Open your browser and go to https://powerschool.cdolinc.net/.
- Log in with your existing Username and Password.
- If you forgot your credentials, use the Forgot Username or Forgot Password links.
- Once logged in, click Account Preferences in the left navigation.
- Click the Students tab.
- Click the Add button.
- Enter the student’s:
- Name
- Access ID
- Access Password
- Relationship
- Repeat for each additional student.
Note: If you do not have your student’s Access ID and Password, please contact Pius X High School for assistance.
Resetting Your Password
If you’re having trouble accessing your PowerSchool Parent Portal account, follow these steps to reset your password.
Step 1: Try Resetting It Yourself
- Go to https://powerschool.cdolinc.net.
- Click Forgot Password? under the Parent Account Recovery Links section.
- Enter your Username and Email Address associated with your account.
- Check your Inbox, Spam, or Junk folders for the reset email.
Step 2: If You Still Can’t Reset It
If you didn’t receive the reset email or the link doesn’t work, a school administrator can reset it for you.
Here’s what they’ll do:
- Search for your contact record in PowerSchool.
- Confirm you have a Parent Portal account.
- If not, they’ll send you a Parent Portal instruction letter to create one.
- If you do have an account:
- They’ll click Edit Account.
- Enable the account if needed.
- Set a temporary password (e.g.,
1234). - Ensure you have Data Access for your student(s).
Step 3: Changing Your Password
Once you log in with the temporary password:
- You’ll be prompted to create a new password.
- Must be at least 8 characters.
- Include uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Include at least one number and one special character.
- After changing your password, you’ll be redirected to the login screen.
- Log in again using your Username and new password.
Reminder: The temporary password is only used once. You must create a new one to continue using the portal.
