Parents: Curt and Joy Martin
School(s) attended K-8: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton k-5 (Wichita, KS), St. Michael’s 6-8 (Lincoln, NE)
Favorite place on campus: My favorite place at pius would have to be the gym. Third period sports and rec my senior year with Mr. Rice had to be one of the best classes of pius. The competition and brotherhood that is created through sports is unbeatable.
Activities at Pius X: I played football and shot trap all four years.
What is/was your favorite class at Pius X, and why?
Physics class junior year with Mr. Cox was my favorite class of Pius. I loved the way Mr. Cox would teach and how he would do so with his hands not a textbook. Every Friday will he started with “Dear Lord it’s FRIDAY!” from here on out.
How has your faith impacted your education, or how has your education impacted your faith?
Throughout the four years of high school my faith had changed a lot. Coming in, I was a just a kid who prayed before meals and before bed. Over the past year, I have really noticed and have been stuck by the power of God. I am in awe of how much He can give and how fast He can take away.
What are you most proud of about your time at Pius X?
I’m most proud to call myself a bolt. A Pius Thunderbolt is someone who has surrounded themselves with good friends and a relationship with God. It’s a big advantage for us to put Pius X High School on a resume because people around Lincoln know what Thunderbolts can become.
Where are your plans after high school (college, military, job, etc.)? What do you plan to study?
I am joining the Nebraska Army National Guard to serve my country and fellow Americans while attending school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study in the college of Business.
