Choir department donates money to Women’s Care Center

The AcaFellas dropped off $2100 to the Women’s Care Center after praying outside of Planned Parenthood on Nov. 11.

“We are donating all profits from both fall and winter Pius’ Got Talent to the Women’s Care Center,” music director Todd Krier said. “They use the money to buy brand new items such as cribs, strollers, clothes, diapers etc. for expecting moms that use them for their services and classes.”

The choir raised the money at the Pius’ Got Talent they held on Oct. 21.

“We raised $1000 after expenses at Pius’ Got Talent, then an anonymous donor matched it,” Krier said. “So, we raised $2100, because $100 were for expenses.”

After dropping off the money, the group went to sing at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital.

“Singing at the hospital was a great treat and we actually got a nice crowd of people walking by or on their break,” senior Aden Miller said. “My barbershop quartet ‘The Dumptrucks’ even got to sing one of our songs, ‘Silhouettes’, a silly love song.”

The next talent show is Jan. 18. Auditions are Jan. 6.
