Student council will be holding a prom dress sale on Monday, March 11. Students can drop of a dress to be sold or buy a new dress at an affordable price. The event will take place in the Pius X commons from 5-8 pm.
“I had the idea because I know that prom dresses are really expensive and it’s a nice way to give back to Pius,” senior Kendall Scott said.
Prom dresses can cost hundreds of dollars and many people don’t want to spend their money on a dress for just one night. In other cases, once girls wear their prom dress they won’t wear it again and leave it in their closet.
Any prom dresses that do not get sold can be picked back up by the owner or Student Council will be donating them to Catholic Social Services.
“We chose Catholic Social Services because they don’t have the most fashionable formal clothes,” junior Maggie Barie said. “I know I love getting dressed up and I think every girl deserves to be able to dress up and feel pretty.”
You can drop off your dress to be sold in the main office before or after school on March 6.
