The 2004 Football team is being inducted into the 2025 Pius X Hall of Fame.
The 2004 Thunderbolt football team had an outstanding, undefeated season. They capped the Class B Football Championship at Memorial Stadium off with a last-minute pass to beat McCook, who was on a 38-game winning streak. The team was led by an outstanding group of seniors, whose hard work, faith, and confidence spread to the entire team. The players cared deeply about each other. They fought hard throughout the season to achieve their goal of a state championship, and made it happen. Their “never give up” attitude helped them pull out the victory and finish the season 13-0.
“This team was awesome. We had great team chemistry and came together well when we needed it the most. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the championship game or the beating we gave Waverly in the playoffs.” – Dan Bargen (2005 yearbook)
“A true championship team, because rarely does a team with such great expectations come through with such great accomplishments. We met the challenge of opportunity by playing the game of our lives at a time when it mattered the most.” – Ross Bosn (2005 yearbook)
