Senior Charlotte Wlaschin has been honored with a Gold Key Scholastic Art & Writing Award from the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.
Her painting, title ‘bright eyed,’ features her and friend in a school hallway.
“I’m very proud of it,” Wlaschin said. “Considering I don’t do portraits that often, I think it turned out great!”
It’s not the first time Wlaschin has been honored. She’s been given a gold key and silver key award over the past two years.
According to the group’s website, “Jurors look for works that exemplify the Awards’ core values: originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.”
Wlaschin’s work now advances to a national competition.
