Freshman students in Taylor Owens’ English class have been immersing themselves in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, exploring its themes of love, conflict, and fate.
As part of a dynamic classroom activity, the students are bringing the iconic fight scene to life through performance. With scripts in hand and dramatic flair, they are stepping into the roles of Mercutio, Tybalt, and Romeo, reenacting the tension-filled confrontation that shifts the course of the play.
This hands-on experience not only deepens their understanding of Shakespearean language and character motivation, but also encourages collaboration, creativity, and a bit of theatrical fun.
