To wrap up their food unit, students in Steph Werner’s Spanish 2 classes combined language and culture in a hands-on cooking project. Each student prepared a dish and created a slideshow presentation explaining their process, using past tense verbs (el pretérito) and newly learned vocabulary.
From sweet desserts like churros and tres leches cake to savory dishes such as quesadillas, arroz con pollo, and gallo pinto, students explored a variety of traditional Hispanic recipes. This engaging project gave students the opportunity to practice their Spanish skills while celebrating culture through food.
