Favorite place on campus: I loved kneeling at the spot closest to the center, in the second pew from the front on the left side of the chapel. That’s where you could find me during 5D most days. The chapel is the most peaceful place to pray, especially when the Eucharist is exposed. I spent my off periods there, I made an effort to go Mass at school once a week, and I could consistently go to confession after school.

What is/was your favorite class at Pius X, and why? My favorite high school class was Anatomy & Physiology. I had Mrs. Steenson as a teacher during my first 6 semesters of high school. She made learning so fun and engaging. I also love being in yearbook class. It’s a creative space for me and I gained so many invaluable skills. I love being a photographer and run around at different sports and school activities with my camera.
How has your faith journey evolved during your time at our school? Are there particular experiences or programs that have significantly impacted your spiritual growth? My faith journey has exploded during my time at Pius. In my senior year, I truly learned how to pray and have a relationship with our Lord. This was because of events like Restore, Blaze Nights at St. Joe’s, and retreats (specifically Verso L’Alto and TEC #133). I am very grateful for my Catholic education because it has helped me build a solid foundation for my future.
What are you most proud of about your time at Pius X? I am most proud of my numerous involvements and leadership within my school. Through my clubs, positions, and activities, I learned skills like time management, communication, and commitment.
Where are your plans after high school (college, military, job, etc.)? What do you plan to study? I plan to study at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on the pre-health track.
