Andy Gerch ’03 is being inducted into the 2025 Pius X Hall of Fame.

Gerch was a three-year letter winner at Pius X, he graduated holding 21 school records. To this day, he still holds the individual career records for: triples (8), home runs (7), and RBIs (68). In 2003, he was named First-Team All-Nebraska by both the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star after batting .400 with 10 doubles, 16 RBIs, and a .733 slugging percentage.

Andy began his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas in 2003 before transferring to Nebraska, where he redshirted the 2004 season. Over the next three years, he became a key contributor for the Cornhuskers. As a freshman in 2005, he batted .364 and helped lead Nebraska to a Big 12 title and a College World Series appearance. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Lincoln Regional and became the first Husker ever selected to the All-College World Series Team. In 2006, Gerch overcame off-season shoulder surgery and the personal loss of his father to return to the lineup. He capped off his career in 2007 as a three-year starter, batting .304 with five home runs and 32 RBIs.

Gerch’s ability to play across the outfield and produce in the postseason—highlighted by a memorable three-run homer in the 2005 College World Series—cemented his legacy as one of the most impactful players of his era in Nebraska baseball.

Andy lives in Lincoln with his wife, Emily, and their three children.
