Give to Pius Day took place on Oct. 22, and it is a dedicated day for supporters to donate to the school to help raise money for families and students in need.
“It’s an important event and money really helps so many people and so many different programs to continue to make our school excellent,” school counselor Jessica Psota said.
This day is important to the community and environment at Pius X. It helps connect the staff, students, and families and brings them closer.
“It’s about giving to the school,” freshman Gavin Smith said.
Part of the importance of the event is that it helps keep Pius X running smoothly. Some money is used to help keep programs and clubs alive. Having so many students involved makes Pius X feel like a big family, as Psota puts it.
“It’s our collective responsibility to continue to take care of the school, the people that work here, the kids that go here, and setting them up for their life beyond here,” Psota said. “So yes, it very much just becomes like a big family.”
It is more about treating each other as a family more than anything.
“Since the Pius community is a family, we should treat students who need help like a member of our own family,” freshman Vy Nguyen said.
