Favorite place on campus: I always loved being in the music room or down on the track, whether it was for a Showchoir rehearsal, band, or for theater, something fun is always happening in there and the people are the best be be around. I also enjoy running with the cross country/track team. I’ve built such a strong bond with those boys over the last 4 years.
Activities at Pius X: Cross Country, Track and Field, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Men’s Choir, Concert choir, Sotto Voce, Show Choir, Theater, National Honor Society
What is/was your favorite class at Pius X, and why? I think it’s less about the class and more about the teacher that makes it so memorable, some classes that stood out over the last 4 years were Physics with Mr Cox, Psychology with Mr Sestalk, Choir with Mr Krier and the Showchoir directors, Theology with Fr Kovar, Architecture with Mr Masur, Mr Kirkwood, and many other teachers. (Also a special shoutout to Mr Pfeiffer. I’ve never had a class with him but he’s had a huge impact on my running career.)
How has your faith journey evolved during your time at our school? Are there particular experiences or programs that have significantly impacted your spiritual growth? The group that has enriched my faith life the most during high school is the music department. Specifically the seniors. The music department is filled with so many Christ loving figures that are willing to go out of their way to help others get closer to God. I have been involved in a variety of sports, activities, and clubs at pius and I can confidently say that the Music department has the most joyful and faith-driven people at Pius.
What are you most proud of about your time at Pius X? I am most proud of the friends that I surrounded myself with. Especially in high school, it can be hard to find a group that brings you true joy and leads you closer to God. I am so lucky to have been surrounded by amazing people in both the music department and on the cross country team for all 4 years of high school, especially this last year. I am also most proud of my accomplishments this senior year with winning the cross country state championship and having success in Show Choir.
Where are your plans after high school (college, military, job, etc.)? What do you plan to study? After high school I will be attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where I will be studying architecture.
