Pius X is held its annual Give to Pius day on October 20.

This is the fifth year the school has held this event.

The goal set for $375,000 by October 20 has been exceeded and there is now a new goal of $435,000.

“This is the annual kickoff for the Fund for Pius,” Advancement director Courtney Johnson said. “Our annual fundraising goal for this year is $725,000.”

Johnson manages all fundraising activities and helps with making sure Pius X education is affordable for all students.

“There was a time about 30 years ago when Pius did a phone-a-thon, but since I have been here, I have decided to change some things to make it easier,” Johnson said.

Donating to the fundraiser helps with technology costs as well as tuition for students.

It also helps with recruiting of new teachers.

“I think of this as a ‘keep the lights on’ fund because it helps with salaries and tuition here at Pius,” Johnson said.

“You can go to the Pius website, go to the Support Pius X tab and click the Fund for Pius tab to learn more,” Johnson said.
