Instaurare Omnia in Christo

Ken Heinz, Instructional Coach

“I grew up in York, Nebraska, received my Bachelors from Nebraska Wesleyan with a double major in vocal music performance and vocal music education, my Masters from Kansas State University in Education Administration and my Doctorate degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln/Omaha in Education Leadership. I taught for 7 years, was a principal for 5 years, and a superintendent for 22 years. I have served for many years as an acolyte, lector and song leader and served as president of the school board for St. Joseph Catholic School in York. I married my high school sweetheart, Sue, in 1985 after dating for six years and have been married for 38 years. We were blessed with three children, two boys and a girl who all have multiple degrees. My oldest son and his wife both have Athletic Training degrees, nursing degrees, and APRN degrees are currently working with the Schrock Wellness Clinic in Kearney. Our daughter teaches in Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools and received her masters degree in school counseling last year and our youngest has a math education degree — taught for one year in Plattsmouth and decided he wanted to go to law school — and his Juris Doctorate degree and is a Deputy County Attorney for York County as well as the York County Zoning Commissioner. Our other kids are our dogs — we love our dogs to death and hold firmly to the belief that we as humans don’t deserve dogs — whom my wife tells me I spoil way too much. My wife was a business education teacher and took early retirement with me in the spring of 2019 (we are very fortunate and blessed). I also have three sisters who were all teachers along with a brother-in-law, two nieces and multiple cousins, uncles and aunts who were/are also teachers. My wife’s dad also taught and was the superintendent in York for 30 plus years.”
