What is your current title and organization? Describe what you do.

Aaron is a Park Laborer for Lincoln Parks and Recreation in the Southwest District. We are located out at pioneers park and manage the parks within the southwest district of Lincoln. Mowing, tree work, garbage pickup, Recreational activities, animal management, and playground management are some of the main duties of my job.

Shelby is a doctor of Chiropractic working as an associate doctor at Thrive family Chiropractic in Lincoln. Thrive specializes in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care.

What is it you love about your work?

Aaron loves being able to work outdoors with great people. While help keeping the city of Lincoln’s green spaces active and clean for the public to enjoy. Shelby loves working with kids and seeing them overcome the issues they are facing everyday. Many kids come into the office with ADHD, anxiety, inability to latch, and poor digestion. Chiropractic care can help with so much more than just pain and our office is focused on the function of the nervous system, which we live our lives through.

What hobbies or other activities do you most enjoy?

Enjoying being closer to both sides of our family and hanging out with them. Also, enjoying the outdoors by going on walks, frisbee golfing, going on trips, and doing house projects together.

What memories stand out to you about your time at Pius X (classes, activities, teachers, etc.)?

Some the most memorable experiences for Aaron came in our senior year when I met Shelby and we started dating and have been together ever since. Also, my experiences of shooting trap with a great group of friends and winning state in our senior year. Shelby has great memories meeting Aron and going to Prom together and also, winning state softball senior year.

How does your experience at Pius X impact you today?

There are many people friends and even staff that still say hi and every time we see them. It has felt like a family since even before going to Pius for Shelby, since her mom works there. There are so many connections throughout the city that lead back to Pius.

Share a little about your family.

Shelby and I are still newly weds with our 3rd anniversary coming up in June 2023. But we have been together for 10 years. We just moved back to Lincoln from Racine Wisconsin in October 2022. Both of our families live in the Lincoln area.
